On the morning of April 6, the inaugural meeting of the Department of Astronomy of the School of Physics and Astronomy, Shanghai Jiaotong University was held at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Xu Xuemin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Jiaotong University, former Academician Ye Shuhua of the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Academician Zhou Youyuan of the National Astronomical Observatory, Academician Cui Xiangqun of the Nanjing Astronomical Optical Technology Institute of the National Astronomical Observatory, and from the National Astronomical Observatory, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Purple Mountain Observatory, Yunnan Astronomical Observatory, Nanjing More than 60 senior astronomical experts and scholars from more than 20 brothers' colleges and research institutes such as universities, Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-Sen University, Xiamen University, and Beijing Normal University attended the inaugural meeting. The conference was presided over by Professor Zhu Kadi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physics and Astronomy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
